health problems disappeared after dismantling of a mobile phone base station

The German journal “Environmental Medicine Society” published in issue 12/2014 a mobile study of a Japanese research team. 107 residents of a skyscraper in Okinawa participated in 2009 in a clinical study in conjunction with a questionnaire. The response rate to the questionnaire was 88%.
Background: In the eight-storey high-rise building was attached in 1998 a mobile antenna in the range of 800 MHz. In March 2008, two additional transmission facilities were put into operation. They were broadcasting in the range of two GHz. The first health examination was carried out in January 2009, i.e. eleven months after the start of broadcasting in the 2-GHz-conditioning and eleven years after the start of the 800-MHz antenna. The second study was conducted in November 2009. At this time, both systems were already five months and nine months no longer in operation.

Result of health examination

Of the 107 participating subjects reported 49 residents to suffer from health problems, as long as the antennas were in operation. After the end of the transmission activity reported only 25 inhabitants of disease symptoms. It is interesting to look at the symptoms in detail. Most commonly complained of fatigue and loss of motivation, eye pain, astigmatism (refractive error), decreased eyesight, insomnia, trouble sleeping, dizziness, nervousness, tachycardia (rapid heart rate) and numbness.
Some symptoms such as fatigue, nervousness, dizziness and sleeping problems disappeared almost completely after switching off the transmitter. The research team also was searching for an alternative explanation for the health problems – but could find none. Thus it came to the legitimate conclusion that the symptoms had to be caused due to emission of mobile antennas. The measured values were between 1 microwatt per square meter and a maximum of 31 microwatts per square meter.

Strong recommendation: carry out further studies

The authors recommend to carry out further research and studies regarding the negative effects of electromagnetic radiation on health. The research evidence to suggest that there is a correlation between a decline in health and mobile base stations. The results represent the installation of mobile towers on residential buildings in question.
